We are seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering on behalf of our client, a full-service engineering, energy commodity consulting, construction management and commissioning firm, for their Commercial / MEP division . They work across the healthcare, gaming, hospitality and higher education industries.
As the Director of Electrical Engineering you'll lead the Commercial / MEP Division’s electrical engineering team . You will grow the division, keep projects on schedule and on budget, win and write proposals and serve as the primary client contact on major projects.
This role is based in the greater Cherry Hill, NJ area.

Responsibilities
Department Leadership & Team Management:
• Lead, mentor and manage the division’s electrical engineering and design staff.
• Conduct performance appraisals and career development planning.
• Partner with division executive leadership to recruit, hire and onboard electrical engineering talent.
• Manage workload allocation, staffing utilization, and project scheduling across all active commercial projects.
Project Delivery & Quality Control:
• Oversee execution of division electrical projects to ensure deliverables meet client requirements, quality standards, schedules and budgets.
• Serve as primary client contact and project manager on major healthcare, higher education, and gaming engagements.
• Enforce QA/QC process on all electrical deliverables, ensuring completed review checklists in coordination with the Chief Electrical Engineer.
• Resolve project-level challenges concerning design coordination, staffing needs, timeline changes, and client requests.
Business & Clients:
• Build and maintain client relationships with hospital systems, universities and casino operators to win repeat and referral work.
• Develop and write proposals, scopes, contracts, fee and cost estimates using company methods and standards.
• Manage department financial performance: project setup, budgets, monthly invoicing and accounts receivable, in compliance with accounting protocols.
• Support division marketing and business development, including interviews, conferences and industry associations.
• Coordinate with the other department directors to keep the division running efficiently.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (required).
• Active PE license.
• 15+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, including 5+ years managing engineering staff and multi-discipline projects.
• Deep electrical engineering experience in building systems, including direct experience managing engineering staff and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Demonstrated technical understanding of electrical design for healthcare, higher education campuses, or gaming/hospitality facilities.
• Proven management track record in managing project schedules, staffing utilization, proposal writing, and fee estimation.
• Proficiency with Revit, lighting and load analysis software, and Deltek Vision or similar project accounting systems (preferred).
