A growing financial technology organization is seeking a Senior Developer to build and evolve production backend systems supporting a modern digital financial platform. This is a highly hands-on engineering position for someone whose primary language is Python. You will work across application development, REST APIs, databases, distributed services, production troubleshooting, performance, and reliability while contributing to technical design and mentoring other developers. The position provides significant technical ownership without requiring a move away from coding into full-time management. RESPONSIBILITIES Design and develop production-grade Python backend services.Build reliable and maintainable REST APIs and integrations.Contribute to backend architecture and system-design decisions.Develop and optimize relational data models and SQL.Build and support microservices and distributed backend capabilities.Troubleshoot production application, API, database, and performance issues.Participate in code reviews and improve reusable engineering patterns.Improve monitoring, observability, performance, and reliability. Role Requirements Strong backend software-engineering experience.Advanced Python development skills with strong foundational knowledge.Experience building and supporting production Python applications.Experience with Django, Flask, and/or FastAPI.Strong REST API development and integration experience.Strong SQL, relational database, and data-modeling skills.Experience with scalable backend services, microservices, or distributed systems.Strong debugging and production problem-solving skills.Experience contributing to application architecture and technical design.Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AWS experience including EC2, Lambda, RDS, or S3.SQLAlchemy or comparable ORM experience.Event-driven architecture.Fintech, lending, or financial-services technology experience.Experience mentoring other developers.
