Job description

Range is creating AI-powered solutions to eliminate financial complexity for our members. We’re transforming wealth management through the perfect blend of cutting-edge technology and human expertise. We’re obsessed with member experience! We’ve built an integrated platform that tackles the full spectrum of financial needs–investments, taxes, retirement planning, and estate management–all unified in one intuitive system. Backed by Google's Gradient Ventures and Cathay Innovations, we're in hyper-growth mode and looking for exceptional talent to join our starting lineup. Every Ranger at this stage is shaping our culture and way of life—from former CEOs and startup founders to experts from leading hedge funds and tech companies. If you're ready to build something that truly matters in financial services, bring your talent to Range. Here, you'll make a genuine impact on how people manage their financial lives while working alongside a team that celebrates wins, makes big decisions, and blazes new trails together. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Head of Product to own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Range's platform -- from our AI-powered wealth manager to the tools our advisors and members rely on every day. You'll shape how members experience the full spectrum of their financial lives and how AI and human expertise come together to deliver it. We're excited to hire this role at Range's Headquarters in McLean, VA. All of our positions follow an in-office schedule Monday through Friday, allowing you to collaborate directly with your team. If you're not currently based in one of these areas but love what you see, let’s discuss relocation as part of your journey to joining us. WHAT YOU’LL DO WITH US - Define and own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap across Range's member experience, AI-driven wealth management capabilities, and advisor-facing tools - Partner with engineering, design, and leadership to turn company strategy into a clear, prioritized product plan - Work hand-in-hand with our financial planners and advisors to make sure product decisions reflect real advisory workflows, member needs, and regulatory realities - Drive the roadmap for AI-powered features -- predictive planning, proactive recommendations, and tax optimization -- striking the right balance between automation and human expertise - Define and track the metrics that matter most and represent product strategy and progress to executives, the board, and investors WHAT WILL SET YOU APART - 10+ years in product management, including experience leading product at the Head/VP/Senior Director level - A track record building consumer or prosumer products in fintech, wealthtech, or another regulated industry -- wealth management or financial planning experience is a strong plus - Experience shipping AI/ML-powered features as a core part of the product, not a bolt-on - Sharp instincts for balancing automation with human-in-the-loop design, especially in high-trust, high-stakes decisions - Proven ability to hire, grow, and lead a product team from the ground up while operating with startup speed and scrappiness COMPENSATION Base salary range: $300,000 – $400,000 This is the base salary range we expect in good faith to pay for this role at the time of posting. Where an offer lands within the range depends on the scope and complexity of work the candidate can own independently and demonstrated depth at this level. OTHER COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The range above reflects base salary only. Our offer packages also include equity in the form of stock options, so total compensation for this role will exceed the base salary range. We do not ask for or consider salary history. You are welcome to ask questions about compensation at any point in the process.
