Job description

At Colibri Group, culture is at the heart of everything we do. Our values Love, Joy, Boldness, Teamwork, and Curiosity guide how we work together, support our customers, and make a difference in the communities we serve. Colibri Group is a leader in online professional education, serving more than one million learners each year across a family of trusted education brands. Within our Teacher Education Ecosystem, including Moreland University, we connect with aspiring and current educators, alumni, and school leaders to support their professional journeys. Social media helps us build authentic relationships with these audiences and connect them with valuable resources and opportunities. Before you apply...please read this! This position is intended for experienced social media marketing professionals who have successfully managed and grown social media accounts for businesses or organizations. We are not seeking influencers or UGC only content creators whose primary experience is managing personal social media accounts. A professional social media portfolio is required to be considered for this position. Your portfolio must showcase actual social media work created or managed for businesses or organizations, ideally including measurable results. Personal Instagram, TikTok, or LinkedIn profiles do not qualify as professional portfolios. Applications submitted without a professional social media portfolio will not be considered. IF this fits you, please carry on!! Come Build What’s Next We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to lead and grow the organic social media presence of Colibri Group’s Teacher Education Ecosystem. This person will shape how our brands show up across social channels, bring educator-focused stories and campaigns to life, build engaged communities, and use performance insights to support awareness, qualified traffic, leads, and applications. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with meaningful ownership of social strategy, day-to-day content production, community engagement, social measurement, and the management of our existing influencer program. As a general guide, approximately 50% of the role is content creation, 25% is social strategy, and 25% spans analytics, reporting, and influencer-program work. The balance will shift with campaigns and business priorities. We’re looking for someone who has managed social media on behalf of a company, organization, or agency client and understands what it means to collaborate with a marketing team and be accountable for KPIs. You should be equally comfortable developing a channel plan, filming and editing a short-form video, speaking on camera, tailoring content for different audiences, engaging with followers, and explaining what the performance data says to do next. Important distinction: This is a professional social media management position, not an influencer, brand ambassador, or personal-content-creator opportunity . You will manage Moreland University's owned social channels and work with external influencers as partners; you will not be hired to promote our brands primarily through your own personal accounts. What You’ll Do Own organic social strategy and editorial planning: Build audience-specific strategies and content calendars across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging channels. Prioritize Instagram and TikTok for educator audiences, tailor LinkedIn content for school leaders and alumni, and explore authentic, non-promotional participation in relevant Reddit communities. Translate wider Marketing initiatives into platform-native campaigns Create content hands-on, with a strong emphasis on short-form video: Personally concept, script, film, edit, caption, and publish videos; appear confidently in talking-head content and social live events. Independently produce graphics, carousels, stories, and copy using tools such as Canva, collaborate with the Graphic Designer on brand consistency, and develop social assets to promote guides, events, and podcasts (without hosting the podcast) Build and serve engaged communities: Manage organic social accounts day to day, including comments, DMs, tags, audience conversations, and admissions-related questions that need routing to the appropriate team. Proactively identify educator and school-leader stories and opportunities for meaningful engagement, not merely one-way posting Measure performance and continually improve results: Monitor audience growth, reach, engagement, video performance, website traffic, leads, guide downloads, and applications attributable to organic social. Use reporting, experiments, and audience insights to refine creative decisions and channel priorities; demonstrate how social contributes to integrated marketing goals Manage influencer partnerships and collaborate across Marketing: Oversee existing external creators, including briefs, content review, approvals, deliverables, renewals, payment coordination, budgets, and ROI. Recommend when to expand, adjust, or pause partnerships. Partner closely with content, design, and paid media colleagues; direct management of paid advertising is not part of this position. Occasionally support events and content opportunities requiring travel What You’ll Bring Professional organizational social media experience: Approximately 2–4 years managing organic social accounts for an employer, organization, or agency client, with personal ownership of deliverables and accountability for KPIs. Managing only your own personal influencer accounts does not meet this requirement; additional relevant professional experience is welcome Proven creation and on-camera skills: Direct experience independently planning, filming, editing, and publishing compelling short-form video for a brand, plus the ability to appear on camera and support live social content. Strong social copywriting and hands-on Canva, Capcut, or comparable design skills are also expected Demonstrated growth and analytical judgment: Evidence that you have grown audiences, not solely maintained existing accounts; ability to explain the KPIs you owned, results you achieved, and changes you made based on data. Familiarity with engagement, website traffic, lead or application attribution, and testing is valuable Audience-focused collaboration and execution: Experience adapting tone, formats, and channels for distinct audiences; engaging communities through comments and DMs; and working within a marketing team to manage a busy editorial calendar, multiple priorities, and cross-functional projects Required professional portfolio: Include an accessible portfolio link or relevant work samples showing organizational/client accounts, short-form videos you personally produced, and ideally measurable outcomes. Redacted or anonymized case studies are welcome for confidential work. Education/edtech experience, previous influencer-program coordination, Reddit knowledge, a related bachelor's degree, and familiarity with tools such as Sprout Social or ClickUp are helpful but not required. Occasional travel may be necessary Tools, Platforms, and Methodologies You May Use Experience with every tool below is not required. We care more about your ability to create strong work, manage the process, and make decisions from results than about checking specific software boxes. Social channels: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Reddit or other educator communities Video creation: CapCut or comparable filming and editing workflows. The team is open to effective tools you already know and use Design and production: Canva, Capcut, and brand templates or design review with an in-house Graphic Designer Scheduling, analytics, and collaboration: Sprout Social or comparable social management and native analytics tools; ClickUp or similar project-management platforms Measurement and improvement: Reporting dashboards, campaign tracking, tests, performance reviews, and thoughtful use of AI for ideation, research, repurposing, or productivity while maintaining originality and brand standards Why You’ll Love Working Here Own the organic social presence of a mission-driven education ecosystem and shape how our brands show up online Create original, video-first content and tell relevant stories for teachers, future educators, alumni, and school leaders Grow priority channels such as Instagram and TikTok while testing thoughtful community opportunities, including Reddit Collaborate with content, design, and marketing colleagues while retaining autonomy over day-to-day creative execution Connect creative work to measurable engagement, leads, and applications while helping evolve an established influencer-partnership program What This Role Is NOT We want to be transparent about what this opportunity entails so candidates can determine whether it's the right fit for their experience and career goals. This is not an influencer or UGC-only creator position. We are not hiring someone to promote our brands through their personal social media accounts or primarily create sponsored content. Experience managing professional business or organizational social media accounts is required This is not solely a content creation or graphic design role. While creativity and hands-on video production are essential, this position also requires organic social strategy, audience development, performance analysis, and measurable results This is not a role focused on directing others to create content. You will personally develop, film, edit, and publish short-form videos, appear on camera, and manage day-to-day social media activities This is not a paid social advertising position. Our paid media team manages advertising campaigns. This position focuses on growing and engaging audiences organically while supporting broader marketing goals We're looking for someone who combines creativity, professional social media management experience, strategic thinking, and a proven ability to grow an organization's social presence. We Encourage You to Apply You may not check every preferred box, and that is okay! We welcome applicants with relevant experience in education, edtech, consumer brands, nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, corporate, and other environments where they have managed professional social channels, served distinct audiences, and delivered measurable results. However, this position does require professional responsibility for an organization’s or client’s social presence, hands-on short-form video creation, comfort contributing on camera, and the ability to assess performance against KPIs. If your experience has primarily been creating content for your own personal influencer accounts, without managing an organization’s or client’s channels and results, this role is unlikely to be the right match. A professional social media portfolio or relevant work samples must be included with your application to be considered. Please share a working link to campaigns, social accounts, video examples, or case studies that demonstrate your direct work and impact. If your work is confidential, you may submit redacted or anonymized case studies and examples that respect client or employer requirements. If you enjoy creating content yourself, collaborating within a marketing team, using data to make it better, and helping real communities connect with an education brand, we would love to hear from you. Please do not submit your application more than once. What You Can Expect From Our Hiring Process We want our interview process to give you a clear picture of the role, the team, and what it’s like to work at Colibri while giving us the opportunity to understand your experience, how you approach your work, and what you’re looking for next. We do not use AI to review applications; your application is reviewed by a human on the Talent Acquisition team. While the exact process may vary slightly by role, you can generally expect: 1. Recruiter Conversation: An introductory conversation with Talent Acquisition about your professional social media background, interests, expectations, and fit for this position 2. Hiring Manager Conversation: A deeper conversation with the Senior Director of Marketing, including review of your work, approach to short-form video, audience segmentation, strategy, and results 3. Team / Cross-Functional Conversation: A conversation with team members, focused on collaboration and the capabilities relevant to day-to-day success in this role 4. Final Conversation and Decision: A final conversation with the team. For finalists, there may be an optional opportunity to connect with additional content teammates. Talent Acquisition will share details and preparation expectations throughout the process. Application deadline: October 30th, 2026 Our goal is to make the experience thoughtful, respectful, and transparent. We encourage you to ask questions throughout the process—we’re evaluating the opportunity together. Our Commitment to Inclusion Colibri Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, respected, and empowered to do their best work. We encourage qualified candidates from all backgrounds, experiences, and career paths to apply.
