Job description

We're looking for a Sales Operations Analyst to join our LA based team! If you're a problem-solving pro, an analytical thinker, a team player and can speak the language of data - we want to hear from you! About ZURU ZURU is a reimagination company. We look for categories that have stood still, then we build next-generation products and brands that set the new standard. ZURU Toys is reimagining play. ZURU Edge is reinventing everyday consumer brands. Rhodes Pet Science is reimagining pet science. ZURU Tech is leading the next building revolution. ZURU started in 2003 with two brothers from New Zealand, and we're still founder-owned and operated today. Since then we've become the world's second-biggest privately held toy company, and nearly half of all Gen Y and Gen Z households with kids in the US own a ZURU product. Today we're 5,000 people in 34 offices, selling into more than 150 markets, backed by over 100 acres of fully automated manufacturing. And we're only getting started. WHAT YOU'LL DO DATA & FINANCIAL ANALYSIS • Provide analytical support for retailer-level sales performance and proactive SKU management. • Build weekly, monthly and seasonal forecasts that drive growth and manage excess inventory. • Maximise POS performance through in-stock management and End of Selling Period inventory transition. • Analyse and summarise item and brand performance, publishing your findings and insights to the wider business. • Prepare ad-hoc reports in response to business needs. • Analyse product assortment and child-level performance to recommend the optimal product mix. • Research, analyse and publish relevant industry and market trends. • Build and maintain Profit and Loss statements - analysing revenue, cost and margin by product, brand, class and category to support informed recommendations. CUSTOMER-FACING INTERACTION • Collaborate with Inventory/Demand Planners and Buyers to optimise inventory management. • Engage with ZURU's VP of Sales, Commercial, Marketing and Operations teams to keep the business aligned. • Present sales, operations and financial data to the retailer's team during key meetings. SUPPORT • Support Sales in Line Review, JBP, forecasting and Buyer's meeting preparation. • Address requests from Sales, Commercial and Marketing teams regarding POS information. • Prepare and distribute accurate weekly and monthly POS reports, reviewing them with specific sales teams to surface actionable insights. DESIGN & INNOVATION • Identify opportunities for improved efficiency and more timely communication of business performance. • Document key processes and best practices for sharing across teams. • Map inefficiencies and waste, then propose and implement scalable solutions. The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. Please note this role is based in-person in our LA office. WHAT YOU'LL GAIN • Real ownership of retailer-level analysis from the start - your forecasts, P&Ls and insights will be used by senior leaders to make commercial decisions, not filed away. • Direct exposure to retail customers and to ZURU's Sales, Commercial, Marketing and Operations teams, building the commercial judgement and stakeholder skills that take most analysts years to develop. • Hands-on development of your analytical toolkit - SQL, data visualisation, forecasting and P&L analysis. • Exposure to an ever-expanding and far-reaching business across a wide variety of sectors and industry groups, giving you a first-hand view of market practices, challenges and trends, and how data drives decisions across a global business. • A clear runway to grow. As ZURU is on such a fast growth trajectory, high performers move quickly into broader scope and greater responsibility. WHAT YOU'LL BRING • Two to three years in an analytical or commercial role in retail or CPG. Sales analysis, category management, demand planning, buying or finance all count. • Experience with retailer POS or sell-through data, and a working grasp of how inventory, forecasting and assortment decisions move sales. • Strong Excel and working SQL. Familiarity with data visualisation, Python and ETL is useful. • The habit of asking what the numbers actually mean, not just reporting them. • Clear writing and speaking, with real experience presenting to senior stakeholders and external customers. • Attention to detail and comfort working with large, messy datasets. • A degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, Supply Chain, Mathematics or a related field. WHO THRIVES AT ZURU This isn't a 9-to-5. We move fast, think big and set goals most companies would call impossible, then go after them. The people who thrive here are entrepreneurs at heart. They own their work, chase bold ideas and never stop raising the bar. At ZURU, you drive your career, and we give you the platform to take it as far as you can. There are opportunities here that you won’t find anywhere else, and you'll be surrounded by talented people who make things happen. We're a true meritocracy: we reward impact, not tenure. HOW WE WORK Big ideas happen when great people work side by side, so we're office-first by design. Being together means faster collaboration, sharper decisions and stronger teams, and it's where the real learning happens. Some flexibility may be available depending on the role, location and business needs, but most roles are office-based. Want to see what life at ZURU really looks like?
