From the employer

SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT ABOUT US Monk is an AI-native accounts receivable (AR) platform for B2B companies helping businesses get paid fast. The AR stack is broken. Finance teams still chase payments with spreadsheets, reconcile AR in spreadsheets and use software that was built a decade ago. We think this is one of the largest, most ignored problems in B2B software. Trillions of dollars sit in outstanding invoices and the tools to unlock cashflow are stuck in the past. We are rebuilding Monk with AI, speed, and real craftsmanship. We are already doing this for over $1B of accounts receivables. We are backed by leading investors and our founders bring significant experience to our company (more here https://literate-vertebra-43d.notion.site/Who-we-are-1a13071c5fd380e9b006f1d9c57ea87f). We are early, the upside is enormous, and the hardest, but also the most rewarding work is ahead of us. ABOUT THE ROLE Own the customer’s solution from discovery through go-live. Understand how their finance team works, design how Monk’s AI agents fit into their operations, and work with Engineering and CX for delivery. AR is full of work that requires context, judgment, and follow-through: chasing payments, resolving disputes, navigating buyer portals, and matching cash to invoices. You will help Customers identify where agents can take on that work and translate the opportunity into working solutions with measurable results. You will work directly with Customers, GTM, Product, Engineering, and founders. Your work will help win strategic deals, accelerate launches, and shape what Monk builds next. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Map the customer’s AR workflows, systems, data, business rules, and exceptions. Identify where agents can reduce manual work and accelerate payment. - Define how Monk connects with ERPs, accounting platforms, payment providers, inboxes, files, and APIs, and permissible agent actions, permissions, approval rules, and human handoffs. - Use representative customer workflows and data to prove the solution works. Agree on success criteria and connect the results to business value. - Qualify opportunities with GTM, lead technical conversations, and resolve blockers early. Be precise about current capabilities and work required. - Turn discovery into clear requirements, integration plans, acceptance criteria, and responsibilities. Work with Engineering and CX through launch and handoff. - Bring recurring customer needs to Product and Engineering with concrete examples, business impact, and proposed solutions. - Build reusable POC environments, agent workflow designs, integration guides, and implementation playbooks. EXAMPLE PROJECTS - Validate an agentic collections workflow. Build a POC around a customer’s overdue accounts: review account history, prioritize follow-ups, draft contextual outreach, and route disputes or payment commitments to the right person. Define approval rules and measure manual work saved. - Design an agent that resolves payment blockers. Map how invoice requests, missing purchase orders, supporting documents, and buyer portal requirements delay payment. Build a POC for an enterprise workflow, defining the integrations, permissions, and human handoffs needed to move invoices toward payment. - Scope an agentic cash application workflow. Trace how remittance emails, payment notifications, bank transactions, and open invoices fit together. Build a POC that investigates potential matches and proposes allocations, with finance approval for ambiguous cases. WHAT YOU’LL BRING - Experience in solutions architecture, solutions consulting, solutions engineering, or enterprise software implementation, with ownership of complex customer engagements. - Confidence working with finance leaders, operators, IT, and engineering teams. You ask good questions and earn trust through clear answers. - Ability to translate enterprise workflows into practical solution designs, POCs, and implementation plans. - Working knowledge of APIs, data flows, authentication, permissions, and integrations. You can read documentation, investigate data issues, and work through technical decisions with engineers. - Strong written and verbal communication. You make requirements, tradeoffs, decisions, and next steps easy to understand. - Commercial judgment. You connect product capabilities to business value and set expectations the team can deliver. - High agency and follow-through. You find missing information, resolve ambiguity, and keep work moving. - Daily use of AI tools and ability to automate your work. BONUS POINTS IF… - You have worked with AR, accounting, billing, payments, or ERP systems. - You have helped Customers deploy AI workflows, including defining evaluations, human review, exception handling, and success criteria. - You are comfortable with SQL, data modeling, or lightweight scripting. - You have worked at an early-stage company where you helped define how Customers were sold, onboarded, and supported. HOW WE WORK - Ownership and craft: We own our work end to end and obsess over getting the details right. We believe that our Customers deserve the best possible outcomes and we strive to produce work that would get a 12/10 reaction from either our Customers or members of our team. Ownership is also knowing when to go deep on a problem and when to move fast. And when the v1 is live - we own all follow-through until it is perfect - Speed and urgency: We ship daily. We act now. Not tomorrow and not the end of the week, but today - this hour. We love shipping fast to delight our Customers - Radical clarity: We believe in getting to the truth. It is important that all of us reason from the same version of reality (the truth) so that we can get the best result. We strive to get the truth by any means necessary. This means being open to feedback, obsessing over improving from our mistakes and clear communication WHY THIS MARKET - A broken market and a real shot at owning it. AR is huge, ignored, and ready to be rebuilt. We're early and the surface area is enormous - $T+ market and max EV from a single AR wedge - No clear winner has emerged in this massive category. It can be us - Insulated from labs. This workflow is complex, too many integrations are required and the last mile in AR is too bespoke for general purpose models - Hard problem worth solving. Revenue intelligence is challenging and inherently unsexy. Frankly, there are fewer strong companies in our space and we are building the most talent-dense team - Undeniable $ROI that allows us to clearly illustrate value to Customers, and embeds us into integral workflows - Our unfair advantage: We have ex-finance founders that have previously exited, scars and learnings from those experiences, an eng-first culture and late-mover advantage WHY JOIN MONK - You want to be a founder someday. We are sharing everything we’ve learned building our past companies (25% of the team are 2nd time founders). One of our primary goals is to help you become a founder and create a place where you do your life’s best work (see more here https://literate-vertebra-43d.notion.site/Join-us-1a23071c5fd380bd9120e87c2d813803) - Real ownership and an opportunity to 10x your learning curve. You will see your work go to production and deliver results for Customers, fast. Your own experience is the greatest teacher and at Monk we are maximizing the # of times you get to have valuable experiences - Build at the frontier of applied AI and solve hard problems. You are curious about AI and do not want to miss this moment building at the frontier - Experienced founders that have exited before and a motivated team that is all-in - Competitive salary and meaningful equity - Medical/dental/vision, flexible paid time off and dinner stipend - Beautiful office in Flatiron, New York Category defining companies are built with exceptional people. Our team is one of the products we're shipping = come help build it.
