Job description

ABOUT MORNING CONSULT: Morning Consult is a global decision intelligence company changing how modern leaders make smarter, faster, better decisions. The company pairs its proprietary high-frequency data with applied artificial intelligence to better inform decisions on what people think and how they will act. This role is available in any of our office locations or can be based remotely. Our award-winning and modern offices are located in Washington, DC, Chicago, IL and NYC. All three offices are accessible by public transportation and in close proximity to great restaurants and shopping. Join us in the office for catered lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays or grab a beverage from the fridge for an impromptu after-work happy hour! THE ROLE: Our engineering teams are building the next generation of AI-powered products. In this role, you’ll build the platform our engineers stand on: the infrastructure, pipelines and tooling that let them ship AI-powered products quickly and safely. You’ll work side by side with product and data engineers, have a real voice in architecture decisions, and own meaningful projects from scoping through rollout. WHAT YOU'LL DO: - Own infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines so engineering teams can ship safely, often and with confidence - Bring an infrastructure perspective to architecture decisions early, working alongside engineers rather than at handoff - Improve observability, alerting and incident response, tracing problems to root cause and sharing what we learn - Lead defined infrastructure projects from scoping through rollout - Keep our AWS environment secure, reliable and cost-efficient - Review teammates' infrastructure code and share what you learn - Use AI tools in your own infrastructure work, and share what works so the whole team gets faster ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU'VE DONE: - Hands-on AWS experience with core services (e.g., EC2, EKS or ECS, S3, IAM, networking). - 2-4 years of DevOps engineering experience, ideally in a small or mid-size company where you’ve worn several hats - Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines - A track record of owning projects end to end and explaining technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers outside infrastructure - Curiosity about AI and experience using AI tools to speed up infrastructure, debugging or automation work - Nice to have: Kubernetes experience Note: We view the above section as a guide, not a checklist. Research shows that underrepresented/marginalized groups are less likely to apply for a job if they feel that they don’t meet 100% of the qualifications. We welcome diverse and non-traditional backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don’t satisfy every single bullet on this list! It’s expected that you’ll learn and grow throughout your time at Morning Consult, so if you’re open to building new skills, we’d love to hear from you. The expected salary range for this position is $93,300 – $150,100, with a midpoint of $121,700. In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. This role is eligible for an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation. Please see an overview of Morning Consult’s benefits on our Career Page morningconsult.com. We are committed to a work environment that is inclusive to all and free of discrimination. It is our policy to be an equal opportunity employer without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic predisposition or carrier status, veteran status, citizenship status or any other factors prohibited by law.
