Our client is a trusted provider of innovative custom formulation solutions, supporting high-growth sectors across Biopharma, Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT), Animal Health, and Tissue Processing. They deliver high-quality, GMP custom liquids that accelerate breakthroughs from discovery to delivery. To capitalize on expanding market demand, they are seeking a hands-on, commercial Vice President of Sales (player-coach) to report directly to the CEO, own a key regional territory, and lead their national sales organization.
Job Description
As the VP of Sales, you will operate as a high-impact player-coach, balancing personal quota execution with the development and leadership of a national sales team. Key responsibilities include:
• Revenue Strategy & Individual Execution: Personally manage and grow a key regional territory while driving national revenue strategy, pipeline growth, and accurate forecasting. Lead complex, long-cycle consultative deals from initial discovery through contract negotiation and execution with executive and technical stakeholders.
• Player-Coach Leadership: Direct, mentor, and scale a national sales team through active field participation—conducting joint customer calls, running opportunity reviews, and coaching reps on value-based messaging in regulated environments.
• Strategic Market Expansion & Operations: Partner with the CEO, board, and cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, Marketing) to refine market strategy, establish consistent CRM discipline, and optimize lead-generation campaigns through industry events and key account programs.
Requirements :
• 5-7+ years of sales experience within Biopharma, Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT), Animal Health, or Tissue Processing, with proven experience selling custom GMP sterile filtered liquid solutions .
• Demonstrated track record acting as a player-coach—managing individual contributor responsibilities alongside leading, mentoring, and developing a sales team.
• Proven history of navigating multi-stakeholder purchasing processes across technical, operational, and C-level decision-makers.
Location : This is a remote work environment but candidates must be based in the Central Region with a strong preference for candidates based Chicago, Houston/Dallas or St. Louis. Must be willing to travel 50%+ Nationally
