GC AI gc.ai is the legal intelligence platform built for in-house legal teams and companies. Your decisions shape the product, your impact is immediate, and you own your work from day one. More than 2,100 companies gc.ai run their legal work on GC AI, including 300+ public companies, 75+ unicorns, and teams at Nestlé, Hitachi Digital, Lockheed Martin, Miro, Bass Pro Shops, Riot Games, SKIMS, Liquid Death, Vercel, TIME, and Post Holdings. The platform holds an 80 NPS, more than double the B2B SaaS industry average, reinforcing GC AI as the leading legal AI platform for companies of all sizes. GC AI has doubled ARR in six months. We won #1 Highest Customer Satisfaction gc.ai at the 2026 SaaS Awards. Our investors include Scale Venture Partners, Northzone, Sound Ventures, and Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel. You’ll define how things get built, not follow someone else’s playbook. Six principles guide how the team works: - 📈 1% Better Every Day: small, compounding improvements across everything you ship. - ❤️‍🔥 Customer Obsession: start with the customer and work backward. - 🚀 Ship Today: bias toward action and iteration over perfection. - 🧗 Find a Way: resourcefulness and ambition over constraint. - 🤝 Care: be direct, like an honest friend, even when it’s uncomfortable. - 🎯 Own It: full accountability, proactive communication, and attention to detail. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our team at GC AI. Our platform carries 1,700+ enterprise customers — including public companies and unicorns — and we’re growing fast. We need someone to make sure it can carry 10x more. This isn’t a feature-churn role. You’ll help own the foundational systems that let our product team ship with confidence: the infrastructure, the pipelines, the observability, and the operational foundation that everything else runs on. When you get it right, engineers move faster, customers trust us more, and the business grows. You’ll have a real seat at the table — shaping engineering direction, setting the standard for how we build and operate infrastructure, and working closely with DevOps and backend engineering to raise the bar across the board. WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS GC AI is at an inflection point. The platform that got us here was built for speed — now it needs to be built for scale. As we grow into larger, more demanding enterprise customers, infrastructure correctness and reliability aren't just engineering concerns; they're the foundation of customer trust. This role exists to close the gap between where the platform is and where it needs to be. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own the infrastructure that enterprise legal teams trust every day — networking, compute, storage, and deployment pipelines on Google Cloud Platform. - Build CI/CD pipelines that make deploying fast, safe, and boring (in the best way). - Define and enforce IaC standards using Terraform, Pulumi, or similar — turning manual processes into repeatable, auditable systems. - Bring clarity to a complex system: unify logging and observability so engineers can understand, debug, and operate the platform with confidence. - Keep things clean — environment isolation, network boundaries, operational hygiene — so we scale without accumulating hidden risk. - Make engineers faster by reducing toil, improving tooling, and building internal platform capabilities that compound over time. - Help define how we build — contribute to engineering culture and technical direction in a company where those decisions still matter. IMPACT YOU'LL HAVE - You'll own our Google Cloud Platform foundation — IAM, service accounts, project isolation, networking — and make it something we're proud of. - You'll turn manual, error-prone processes into repeatable infrastructure as code using Terraform, Pulumi, or similar. - You think in systems and catch problems before they become incidents — and you build the tooling that makes that possible for everyone. - You'll bring clarity to our observability story — unified logging, meaningful alerts, pipelines that actually tell you what's happening. - You'll raise the backend engineering bar, bringing TypeScript experience and strong technical judgment to a team that's ready to level up. NICE TO HAVE - Experience acting as a technical lead on a team or vertical; strong communication skills. - Experience with platform engineering, internal developer platforms (IDPs), or developer tooling. - Prior work in regulated or enterprise-focused environments. - Familiarity with SRE practices, incident response, or on-call workflows. GC AI is distributed, and engineering is our most distributed team. We hire engineers across the US and Canada. Wherever you're based, expect up to 10% travel for coworking sessions and team off-sites across our hub cities. Because we work across time zones, we prioritize engineers who communicate clearly in writing and operate well asynchronously. Strong written communication is a core part of how we build. A NOTE ON PACE We’re building something new in a once-in-a-generation shift in technology and the legal industry, so we move at a relentless pace. We expect urgency, ownership, and good judgment even when things aren’t perfectly clear. If you need structure and consensus to do your best work, this isn’t the right place for you. If you thrive in ambiguity and growth, work with intensity, and want real responsibility, keep reading. We’re excited to meet you. HOW WE WORK TOGETHER GC AI is a distributed company with team members across North America, and soon Europe. We believe that because our business is AI, human connection matters more, not less. We invest in bringing people together through our hub model: regular coworking sessions, customer dinners, team and company offsites. If you’re in a location without an office, expect up to 10% travel (and more for customer-facing roles). Team members in the San Francisco Bay Area and Provo, UT (within 50 miles of the office) work together on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. As we grow, we plan to establish permanent offices in more hub cities gc-ai.notion.site, and we will look to our team members to help build that in-person culture. We currently hire across the United States and Canada.
