Job description

We are open to remote employment within the United States. For over 25 years, NEOGOV has been at the forefront of public-sector innovation, building technology that helps government and education organizations work smarter, move faster, and better serve their communities. We are a team of cutting-edge technologists, operators, and problem-solvers with top-tier skills and a shared ambition: to build the most efficient operating model in GovTech. We combine deep public-sector expertise with modern SaaS practices, AI-enabled workflows, and a relentless focus on execution. At our core, we are a people-first company. We empower our customers to support the public servants they employ, the communities they serve, and the talented teams that bring our platform to life. Our solutions support the entire employee journey, from hire to retire. By transforming complex HR and compliance workflows into simple, intuitive experiences, we help public-sector organizations reduce friction, improve efficiency, and focus on what matters most: making a difference. This posting is for an existing vacancy. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Product Marketing to lead our product marketing team that reports to our VP of Marketing. This individual will be responsible for defining and executing our product marketing strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and positioning across our portfolio of products spanning four industry verticals and three brands. The Director of Product Marketing will play a pivotal role in competitive intelligence, new product launches, sales enablement, and multi-channel marketing campaigns while serving as a thought leader and internal subject matter expert. • Positioning and Messaging : Develop and maintain comprehensive messaging kits for all products, ensuring clear differentiation and market positioning. • Competitive Intelligence : Oversee and enhance the competitive intelligence program to provide actionable insights for sales, marketing, and product teams. • New Product Launches : Lead go-to-market (GTM) strategy and execution for new product launches, ensuring successful pipeline development and revenue growth. • Quarterly Feature Launch Communication : Partner with Product to craft and execute communication plans for quarterly feature releases, ensuring alignment across marketing, sales, and customer success. Team Leadership : Act as a player/coach to a team of 6 product marketing managers, with continued growth ahead. Comfortable building, structuring, and scaling a growing team, setting the bar for quality, pace, and accountability. • Team Culture & Talent Development : Drive team energy, raise the bar on ownership & execution, and coach the team toward clear growth paths. • Request Intake & Prioritization: Own a system for intaking and prioritizing requests from Product, Sales, Events, and other functions, protecting the team’s capacity and keeping priorities clear. • Amplify the Voice of the Customer : Champion customer insights and ensure they are integrated into product development, marketing, and sales strategies. • Annual Customer Conference Content Strategy : Collaborate to define and execute content strategy, ensuring alignment with key product narratives. • Sales Enablement Content : Oversee the development of case studies, product one-pagers, demos, product videos, interactive product tours, and other sales collateral. • Marketing Thought Leadership : Serve as a subject matter expert on product-related content for the broader marketing team, ensuring product alignment across marketing initiatives. • Multi-Channel Marketing Campaigns : Develop strategies for integrated marketing campaigns that drive demand, engagement, and pipeline growth. • AI-Enabled Efficiency: Identify and build AI-powered systems and automations that remove repetitive work from the team’s plate, freeing time for higher-value work. • A leader first: a natural people leader and culture-builder with a track record of growing a team’s capability and morale, bringing energy and optimism even if the workload is heavy. This matters more to us than specific industry or sector pedigree. • AI-enabled: comfortable identifying and driving AI-powered systems and automations that take repetitive work off the team’s plate. • 7+ years of experience in marketing, with 3+ years directly managing and developing a team. B2B SaaS or technology experience is a plus, not a requirement. • Proven ability to develop and execute high-impact marketing strategies that drive revenue growth, and to lead, mentor, and inspire a team. • Deep understanding of market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation. • Experience launching new products and building pipeline. • Track record of creating sales enablement materials that drive sales success. • Strong collaborator across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing leadership, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. What You Have • Experience leading a team through meaningful growth. • Hands-on familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Asana, ClickUp, Gong, and Eloqua (or comparable platforms). • A track record of developing and promoting individual contributors into senior roles. • Direct experience partnering with Product on launch sequencing and GTM timing — not just executing a plan handed to you. • Comprehensive Benefits package (medical, dental, vision, etc.) for full-time employees • Generous PTO to support work-life balance • Remote working opportunities • 401K Matching • Autonomy to grow and find your career path with supportive leadership • 12-week Paid Parental Leave • Inclusive and diverse environment NEOGOV does not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, protected military status, or other non-merit factors.
