Location Portland, Oregon Type Contract Post Date 10/12/2026 Description Job Id: 73477 IT System Administrator Our client is seeking an IT System Administrator to join their technology team and help keep core infrastructure secure, stable, and running smoothly. This role supports the day-to-day health of the Microsoft environment and serves as a key point of escalation for complex technical issues. This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon. IT System Administrator Responsibilities: • Administer and maintain core infrastructure, including on-premises Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and supporting services. • Monitor systems for incidents and respond quickly to restore service and minimize business impact. • Manage and resolve escalated incidents and service requests while upholding system stability, performance, and compliance standards. • Work the ServiceNow ticket queue, prioritizing and resolving requests in a timely manner. • Create and maintain clear documentation, including standard operating procedures, runbooks, and infrastructure diagrams, and continuously improve them for accuracy and long-term use. IT System Administrator Qualifications: • Hands-on experience administering Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Windows Server environments. • Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure incidents, including escalated issues, in a fast-paced setting. • Experience working in an IT service management platform such as ServiceNow, with strong ticket prioritization and follow-through. • Working knowledge of system monitoring, operational standards, and compliance requirements. • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear procedures, runbooks, and technical diagrams. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
