Bitcentral | Banyan Software

About Bitcentral
Bitcentral builds mission-critical media software that enables broadcasters and media organizations to produce, manage, and distribute the stories audiences depend on every day. For more than 20 years, our solutions have powered news, sports, and entertainment workflows for over a thousand media and entertainment organizations, combining the reliability customers describe as "it just works" with the innovation needed to move content faster across linear, digital, cloud, and emerging distribution channels.
Bitcentral is embedded in the daily workflows of many of the largest news organizations in the country. As a Banyan Software-owned company, Bitcentral offers established customer trust, long-term ownership stability, and meaningful product opportunity in a media landscape that is changing quickly. Banyan Software is a long-term owner of vertical software businesses whose model is to buy, hold, and grow companies permanently.
For a product leader, this is an opportunity to lead with real customer proximity, a proven foundation, and the ability to help define what comes next.
Vice President – Product Management
As Vice President of Product Management, you will own Bitcentral's product vision, strategy, and roadmap at a company-defining moment for broadcast and media technology. You will lead the evolution of Bitcentral from a trusted, established media software provider into a more modern, scalable, customer-led product company built for the next generation of broadcast and digital media workflows.
You bring a unique blend of product leadership, customer fluency, commercial judgment, and technical understanding. You will translate customer needs, market dynamics, and long-term competitive positioning into a prioritized product roadmap that balances innovation, platform stability, and the dependability standards broadcast customers require.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will serve as the executive owner of product direction, customer discovery, roadmap priorities, and long-term product strategy. You will partner closely with engineering, sales, finance, customer-facing teams, and strategic customers to define what comes next while protecting the reliability and trust that made Bitcentral successful.
This role requires product leaders who bring real-world experience in AI product development, pricing and business model transformation, and the judgment to navigate a platform migration from on-premise to hybrid cloud. Familiarity with broadcast media workflows and the dynamics of the broadcast industry is strongly valued.
This position may be based in Southern California near Bitcentral offices or remote within the United States, with travel as required for customer, company, and industry engagement.
Responsibilities
Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring priorities reflect customer needs, market dynamics, and Bitcentral's long-term competitive position in broadcast and media software.
Lead Bitcentral's transition from on-premise infrastructure toward hybrid cloud architectures while maintaining the reliability standards required for mission-critical broadcast workflows.
Champion AI-first product development, identifying where media data, workflow intelligence, and automation capabilities can be transformed into new product lines and revenue streams, not just incremental feature improvements.
Make deliberate build-versus-buy and sequencing decisions under resource constraints, balancing innovation investment with platform stability.
Partner with sales leadership to translate customer signals, market trends, and strategic account needs into product priorities that protect retention and open expansion opportunities.
Serve as a credible product voice with Bitcentral's largest broadcast clients, earning trust through domain fluency and a forward-looking product point of view.
Lead pricing, packaging, and business model evolution as Bitcentral transitions from perpetual license models toward recurring revenue.
Partner with finance and sales to sequence pricing and customer migration decisions in a way that protects relationships while building recurring revenue momentum.
Measure product success against pro forma expectations and translate performance insights into roadmap, pricing, and investment decisions.
Work closely with technology leadership to translate product strategy into execution priorities and maintain productive alignment between innovation speed and platform reliability.
Build and lead the product function, shaping the team structure, decision rights, operating cadence, and culture required for a customer-led product organization.
Communicate clearly and proactively with the CEO, Banyan Operating Partners, leadership team, and internal stakeholders on product performance, roadmap tradeoffs, strategic priorities, and market conditions.
Required Skills
Senior product leadership experience in a B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or vertical software company, with direct accountability for product strategy, roadmap development and execution, customer adoption, and product-market fit.
Demonstrated ability to make forward-looking product bets grounded in customer discovery, market data, usage signals, and long-term competitive positioning.
Experience leading a product organization through a meaningful inflection point, such as platform repositioning, pricing model redesign, migration from on-premise to cloud, or market expansion.
Practical AI product mindset, including experience shipping AI-embedded capabilities with measurable customer outcomes or leading sustained AI experimentation with clear conviction about where AI creates durable product value.
Strong commercial judgment, including experience with pricing, packaging, customer migration, and business model evolution from perpetual license or services-heavy models toward recurring revenue.
Credibility with enterprise or institutional customers, including the ability to serve as the primary product voice in strategic customer relationships.
Ability to translate complex customer workflows, technical constraints, and market opportunities into a clear, prioritized product roadmap.
Highly Preferred
Experience in broadcast media, television technology, content management, media asset management, playout, newsroom workflows, or a closely adjacent vertical.
Familiarity with the workflows, reliability expectations, regulatory constraints, and buyer dynamics of large broadcast organizations.
Experience modernizing established products without disrupting customers who depend on them for mission-critical operations.
Experience with hybrid cloud, scalable software architectures, workflow automation, or AI-enabled enterprise applications.
Ability to lead with both strategic altitude and operational discipline, including clear decision rights across product, engineering, sales, and customer-facing teams.
Why Bitcentral & Why This Role
Significant impact and autonomy. Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap during a company-defining moment for the organization, with the opportunity to build on a strong customer-driven foundation to evolve the portfolio into a scalable, market-leading platform that serves the evolving needs of media organizations.

The expected base salary for this position is: USD $170,000-$220,000, excluding incentives (when applicable). Salary is based on a number of factors including market conditions, location, and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
