Job description

[app.ashbyhq.com] ABOUT BASIS Basis builds real agents that do real work in the real economy. Our agents operate for hours at a time, performing end-to-end work for some of the largest accounting firms in the world. We recently raised $100M at >$1B valuation and are racing to deploy the most advanced applied ML at production scale. Our investors include: Khosla Ventures (Keith Rabois & Vinod Khosla), Accel (Miles Clements), Google Ventures, Nat Friedman & Daniel Gross, Adam D'Angelo, Jeff Dean, Jack Altman, Noam Brown, Kyle Vogt, Amjad Masad, Clem Delangue and many other operators/technical leaders. "Basis is on the frontier of building production-grade, long-horizon agents. They've pushed the limits of what we thought our models could do on real-world, economically valuable, complex accounting tasks. They've been a great collaborator in helping us shape what the future of agents looks like." — Prashant Mital, Applied AI Lead, OpenAI ABOUT THE ROLE Basis is looking for a founding growth marketing manager to build the one-to-many engine for in-house finance teams. Our agents already work inside the largest accounting firms in the world. In-house finance is the next market. You'll find the channels, messages, offers, and conversion paths that turn it into efficient, qualified pipeline. You'll own programmatic growth across paid search, paid social, lifecycle, the website, influencers, and new channels. With our Head of Content you’ll flex into SEO and AEO, video, and newsletters. You are obsessed with your numbers. You can explain how they changed and connect every program to pipeline and revenue. You’ll build feedback loops that let ad platforms learn from qualified opportunities and closed-won deals. You treat channels as a system to build and improve, not a budget to spend. You'll also bring a scrappy builder's mindset. Set up the tool, automate the workflow, ship the first campaign, and find the partner who helps you move faster. Use AI, Clay, our CRM, and a lean stack to create leverage for yourself and the team. You'll work closely with the Head of Marketing, PMM, Content, Marketing Ops, Sales, and Design. PMM and Content give you the narrative and assets. You turn them into distribution, conversion, and pipeline. This is a high-ownership role for a marketer who likes hard numbers and messy starting points. You should be as comfortable inside an ad account as you are deciding which channel deserves the next dollar. 📍 Location: NYC, Flatiron office. In-person team, 5 days a week. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: - 5-8 years in growth marketing, performance marketing, or paid acquisition, ideally at a high-growth software, AI, fintech, or technical product company - A track record of paid search and paid social programs that moved qualified pipeline, CAC, payback, or LTV to CAC - Command of your performance numbers and the ability to explain what changed, why it changed, and which decision followed - Hands-on depth in campaign structure, bidding, creative testing, landing pages, conversion rate optimization, and budget allocation - Experience wiring ad platforms, website behavior, and CRM outcomes together so channels optimize toward qualified opportunities and revenue - A habit of creating leverage through AI, automation, Clay, CRM workflows, and agencies instead of headcount - Technical aptitude and curiosity. You do not need to come from AI or accounting, but you should learn complex products quickly and market credibly to sophisticated buyers WHAT WE'D LOVE TO SEE: - Performance Depth: Examples of how you improved CAC, payback, LTV to CAC, pipeline efficiency, or revenue from a paid channel over time - Scrappy Leverage: A system, automation, or operating model that helped a smaller team produce more and improve results - Paid Social Range: Experience making Meta, LinkedIn, or another paid social channel work through strong creative, clean feedback loops, and disciplined iteration - One-to-Many Creativity: Campaigns that reached a broad buyer set without flattening the differences between industries, use cases, or levels of intent - Channel Judgment: A clear example of where you scaled a channel, fixed it, or stopped spending because the economics did not work - New Channel Bets: Experience testing SEO and AEO, influencers, video, connected TV, emerging ad platforms, or another unconventional growth surface - Design Partnership: A trusted designer, agency, or creative operating model that helped you ship high-quality assets quickly WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE: - Efficient Pipeline: Growth programs create qualified opportunities with in-house finance buyers at improving acquisition economics - Paid Performance: Paid search and paid social have clear revenue feedback loops, disciplined testing, and a path to positive ROI - Programmatic Reach: Basis can reach large, horizontal audiences while keeping the message relevant to distinct industries and finance use cases - Conversion Momentum: Ads, landing pages, website paths, nurture, and follow-up steadily improve the path from first touch to sales conversation - Channel Learning: Each test produces a clear decision about which audiences, messages, offers, formats, and channels to scale, fix, or stop - Growth Leverage: Automation, AI, templates, and a lean stack increase output without forcing headcount to grow with spend - Balanced Time Horizons: The team can see how this quarter's pipeline plan connects to the bets that could drive next year's growth - Repeatable Growth Engine: Planning, launch, measurement, experimentation, and iteration run on a clear rhythm BENEFITS AT BASIS We offer a competitive and thoughtful benefits package designed to support your physical, mental, and financial well-being: - Health & Wellness: Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; Life Insurance; and 6 coaching & 6 therapy sessions through Spring Health. - Basis will cover 100% of your Wellhub Gold wellhub.com membership. - Wellhub gives you access to gyms like Lifetime, SoulCycle, NYSC and so many more - as well as access to wellness apps like Strava & Headspace! - Time off: Unlimited PTO + 12 paid company holidays. - In-Office Perks: Daily meal stipends, a fully stocked kitchen, and $300 toward your custom desk setup. - Financial Benefits: Pre-tax commuter benefits and 401(k) retirement plan - Team Culture: Monthly office activities and frequent optional team happy hours. - Parental Support: Access to Carrot Fertility and paid parental leave.
