Job description

[app.ashbyhq.com] ABOUT BASIS Basis builds real agents that do real work in the real economy. Our agents operate for hours at a time, performing end-to-end work for some of the largest accounting firms in the world. We recently raised $100M at >$1B valuation and are racing to deploy the most advanced applied ML at production scale. Our investors include: Khosla Ventures (Keith Rabois & Vinod Khosla), Accel (Miles Clements), Google Ventures, Nat Friedman & Daniel Gross, Adam D'Angelo, Jeff Dean, Jack Altman, Noam Brown, Kyle Vogt, Amjad Masad, Clem Delangue and many other operators/technical leaders. "Basis is on the frontier of building production-grade, long-horizon agents. They've pushed the limits of what we thought our models could do on real-world, economically valuable, complex accounting tasks. They've been a great collaborator in helping us shape what the future of agents looks like." — Prashant Mital, Applied AI Lead, OpenAI WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Basis is looking for a founding demand generation manager to build the account-based engine for the accounting firm market. You'll create qualified pipeline and help Basis land and expand across a tight, defined set of high-value firms. You'll own two connected motions. Build 1:1 programs for our most strategic accounts, then build 1:few programs that reach the wider accounting firm market with relevance and leverage. Both motions start with deep domain and practice knowledge. The accounting firm market is concentrated, relationship-driven, and built on trust. You'll map buying committees across tax, CAS, and audit, find the signals that show where an account is ready to move, and create programs that give each buyer a reason to act. For priority firms, you'll turn account plans into tailored programs with Sales and BDRs: account research, executive outreach, custom offers, events, direct mail, and deal acceleration. For the broader named-account universe, you'll build campaigns, partner programs, executive experiences, and webinars that speak to shared priorities without flattening the differences between practices and buyers. Events and partnerships are core channels here, so you'll work closely with our Events and Partnerships leads to turn conferences, referrals, and alliances into coordinated account plays. You'll work closely with the Head of Marketing, PMM, Content, Marketing Ops, Sales, BDRs, Partnerships, Events, and Customer Marketing. PMM and Content give you the narrative and assets. You turn them into account engagement, sales conversations, and revenue. This is a high-ownership role for a marketer who wants to work deeply, not broadly. You'll need strong ABM instincts, sharp commercial judgment, and the ability to move between account strategy and hands-on execution. 📍 Location: NYC, Flatiron office. In-person team, 5 days a week. WHAT YOU'LL BRING - 5-8 years in B2B demand generation, account-based marketing, or field marketing, ideally at a high-growth software, AI, fintech, or technical product company - A track record of building 1:1 and 1:few programs that created qualified enterprise pipeline and helped close complex deals - Deep account planning skills across ICP definition, account selection, buying committee mapping, intent signals, and engagement strategy - A history of partnering closely with Sales and BDR teams to prioritize accounts, coordinate outreach, improve follow-up, and accelerate active opportunities - Experience using events, field programs, partnerships, referrals, or alliances as part of an account-based motion - A clear point of view on the operations underneath it all: account stages, engagement signals, measurement, and pipeline feedback loops - Technical aptitude and curiosity. You do not need to come from AI or accounting, but you should learn complex products quickly and market credibly to sophisticated buyers WHAT WE'D LOVE TO SEE - 1:1 Account Depth: Examples of where you understood an account deeply enough to create a program that changed the sales conversation - 1:Many Leverage: A campaign that reached a defined account set at scale without losing relevance for distinct practices, buyers, or use cases - Pipeline Ownership: Programs that created measurable meetings, qualified opportunities, pipeline, or revenue within a named-account market - Event and Partner Leverage: A history of turning events, alliances, referrals, or customer relationships into coordinated account engagement - Land-and-Expand Experience: Programs that helped a company enter one team or business unit and expand into additional buyers, use cases, or budgets - System That Compounds: Every account plan, campaign, template, and workflow makes the next program faster and stronger WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE - Priority Account Penetration: Basis builds stronger relationships and creates more qualified opportunities within its most strategic accounting firms - 1:Few Coverage: The wider named-account market receives relevant campaigns and experiences that create engagement without generic lead generation - Pipeline Quality: Demand programs create qualified opportunities with the right firms, practices, and buyers, not just activity or lead volume - Event and Partner Impact: Conferences, field programs, alliances, referrals, and customer relationships connect to account plans and measurable pipeline - Land-and-Expand Momentum: Marketing helps Basis land new practices and expand across tax, CAS, audit, and additional buying groups - Sales Alignment: BDRs and AEs have clear account context, coordinated plays, and tight feedback loops with Marketing - Repeatable Account-Based Engine: Planning, launch, measurement, experimentation, and iteration run on a clear rhythm BENEFITS AT BASIS We offer a competitive and thoughtful benefits package designed to support your physical, mental, and financial well-being: - Health & Wellness: Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; Life Insurance; and 6 coaching & 6 therapy sessions through Spring Health. - Basis will cover 100% of your Wellhub Gold wellhub.com membership. - Wellhub gives you access to gyms like Lifetime, SoulCycle, NYSC and so many more - as well as access to wellness apps like Strava & Headspace! - Time off: Unlimited PTO + 12 paid company holidays. - In-Office Perks: Daily meal stipends, a fully stocked kitchen, and $300 toward your custom desk setup. - Financial Benefits: Pre-tax commuter benefits and 401(k) retirement plan - Team Culture: Monthly office activities and frequent optional team happy hours. - Parental Support: Access to Carrot Fertility and paid parental leave.
