Job description
Lead/Senior AMS Research Engineer – Advanced Tech Exploration – Tier-1 Semiconductor Company
The client
The client is a Tier-1 semiconductor company recognised globally for its leadership in mixed-signal technology and frequent top‑ranked contributions at ISSCC. With a flat organisational structure and strong ties to leading academic institutions, they invest heavily in exploratory research, providing access to tier‑1 foundry resources and full tape‑out capability across worldwide design centres.
The role
The role sits within a newly established Advanced Technology Exploration hub, bridging university research and product R&D to invent next‑generation mixed‑signal architectures.
You will:
• Spearhead exploratory research in advanced mixed‑signal architectures (Data Converters, PLL/CDR, High‑Speed SerDes/AFE).
• Drive concepts from feasibility and schematic design through to physical IC tape‑out.
• Perform silicon characterization, measurement and lab validation of prototype chips.
• Contribute to IP portfolio via patents and publish in top conferences/journals.
• Collaborate with university partners and internal engineering teams.
Your background
• PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with focus on AMS circuit research.
• Deep hands‑on design expertise in high‑speed data converters, PLL/clocking, or high‑speed SerDes/AFE.
• Proven tape‑out experience of complex mixed‑signal designs and silicon measurement.
• Experience with advanced CMOS/FinFET process nodes.
• Strong record of patents or publications in leading IEEE conferences/journals.
