Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Data Analyst to support multiple data-related projects, including report development, data analysis, root cause analysis, and data publishing. The ideal candidate will have experience with Power BI, Snowflake, business requirements gathering, data flow documentation, and developing technical solutions in collaboration with business teams. Key Responsibilities • Analyze data and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve data errors. • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements for reporting projects. • Develop and maintain reports using Power BI and other reporting tools. • Document data flows, reporting processes, and technical solutions. • Support data publishing to the DIR Open Data Portal or the Railroad Commission (RRC) website. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to design effective technical solutions. • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and implementation activities. • Ensure deliverables meet established quality standards and business analysis methodologies. • Maintain project documentation and follow established processes and procedures. • Work independently with minimal supervision and provide guidance to team members when needed. Required Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, and reporting. • 8+ years of experience gathering business requirements and creating reports. • 8+ years of experience facilitating business requirements analysis and collaborating with business teams to design technical solutions. • 5+ years of experience supporting UAT, training, and implementation activities. • 2+ years of experience with Power BI and Snowflake. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills. • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills in English. • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently. Preferred Qualifications • 2+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry. • Experience with public data portals and data publishing. • Experience documenting data flows and resolving data quality issues.
