Job description
Senior Analog Design Engineer – Top-Five Global Semiconductor Company
The client
The client is a top-five global semiconductor organisation, recognised for its leadership in advanced mobile system‑on‑chip (SoC) technologies. With a strong R&D footprint across the United States, Europe and Asia, they deliver cutting‑edge analog and mixed‑signal IP that powers next‑generation mobile devices.
Backed by substantial investment and a broad portfolio of silicon products, the business operates at scale, serving leading device manufacturers worldwide. The role offers the opportunity to work on high‑impact projects within a collaborative, engineering‑focused environment.
The role
Design analog and mixed‑signal IP blocks for advanced mobile SoCs, covering the full design lifecycle from architecture through to production test.
You will:
• Define mixed‑signal design architectures and document specifications.
• Perform transistor‑level feasibility studies, detailed performance analysis and design optimisation.
• Develop analog IP such as op‑amps, band‑gap circuits, LDOs, ADCs/DACs.
• Model system‑level digital control to validate and optimise analog functionality.
• Lead layout reviews and guide layout engineers to achieve target performance.
• Execute tape‑out quality verification, including EM/IR and timing analysis.
• Create production‑test plans for mass‑production analog designs.
• Collaborate with front‑end, back‑end and integration teams to provide design models for SoC integration.
Your background
• MS or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of analog and/or mixed‑signal design experience.
• Hands‑on experience with data converters, LDOs and PMICs.
• Deep understanding of FinFET transistor operation and device dynamics.
• Proficiency in AC/DC analysis, feedback theory, digital standard cells and low‑power techniques.
• Expertise with Cadence Virtuoso, Custom Compiler, Spectre, AMS, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong scripting skills in Tcl, Perl or Python; SKILL and shell scripting a plus.
• Experience translating silicon measurements into performance validation.
Salary $130000 – $227000 Location Austin, TX or San Diego, CA At PER International we believe the best engineering teams are also the most diverse. We welcome applications from candidates of every background, and assure every applicant that they will be assessed on the strength of their work and ambition — without regard to race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability.
