Working Hours: Flexible, with some regular overlap with the San Francisco time zone
Compensation: $3,000–$5,000 USD/month, depending on experience
About the Role
Our client is an early-stage US AI company building software that transforms how growth and creator businesses operate.
They work directly with real operational teams to understand how work gets done today, identify where AI can create meaningful leverage, and build products and workflows that dramatically increase what great people can accomplish.
Our client is looking for a highly capable, hands-on Business Operations / Deployment Strategist to work at the intersection of business operations, AI, customers, and product .
This is not a traditional strategy or consulting position where the job ends with analysis and recommendations. You will get directly involved in operational workflows, understand problems from the inside, use AI and internal tools to improve how the work gets done, and work closely with Product and Engineering to turn successful approaches into scalable solutions.
They are looking for someone with high agency who is comfortable with ambiguity, learns quickly, takes ownership, and cares about measurable outcomes.
What You'll Do
• Work directly with operational teams to understand how their day-to-day workflows function.
• Take ownership of ambiguous business problems and turn them into practical solutions.
• Get hands-on with operational work rather than only observing or advising.
• Identify repetitive, inefficient, or high-value workflows that can be improved through AI, automation, or better processes.
• Use AI tools and internal software to execute work faster and more effectively.
• Experiment with new workflows and determine what actually produces better business outcomes.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering to translate operational insights into product improvements.
• Help deploy new AI-powered workflows across teams and drive adoption.
• Measure the impact of new processes and continuously improve them.
• Identify opportunities to multiply the output of strong operators rather than simply adding more people.
• Act as a bridge between customers, operations, product, and engineering.
What We're Looking For
• Experience in Business Operations, Strategy & Operations, Product Operations, consulting, implementation, startup operations , or a similarly hands-on role.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
• A track record of taking ownership without requiring detailed instructions.
• Strong bias toward action and execution.
• Comfortable operating in environments where processes are still being created and the answer isn't always obvious.
• Ability to quickly understand complex business workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Strong interest in AI and practical experience using AI tools in your own work.
• Comfortable experimenting with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, AI agents, automation platforms, or similar technologies.
• Enough technical understanding to work effectively with Product and Engineering teams. You do not need to be a software engineer.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• Availability for some regular overlap with the San Francisco-based team.
You May Be a Great Fit If...
You naturally find yourself:
• Taking ownership of problems that don't have an obvious owner.
• Joining messy projects and creating structure where none existed.
• Automating parts of your own work without being asked.
• Using AI to accomplish significantly more than you could through traditional workflows.
• Learning new industries, tools, and processes quickly.
• Talking directly with customers to understand what they actually need.
• Building processes from scratch rather than simply maintaining existing ones.
• Identifying business problems and working with technical teams to build solutions.
• Moving comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
• Constantly looking for ways to make existing processes significantly faster and more effective.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a traditional corporate BizOps position where most of your time is spent creating presentations, dashboards, and recommendations.
It is also not a software engineering position.
You will sit between the two.
You will be expected to understand the business problem, roll up your sleeves and help solve it, use AI to multiply your output, and then help turn what works into a scalable system.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role isn't measured by how many recommendations or documents you produce.
It's measured by your ability to:
Understand a workflow → do the work → identify the bottlenecks → improve it with AI → prove the improvement works → help scale it.
The objective is to take work that currently requires significant manual effort and use AI, software, and better processes to dramatically increase what one strong operator can accomplish.
Why Join Our Client
Real AI deployment
You'll apply AI to real operational problems and workflows rather than working only on prototypes or experiments.
High ownership
You'll be trusted with important problems to solve rather than a narrow list of predefined tasks.
Direct product influence
What you learn from working directly with operations and customers will influence what the Product and Engineering teams build next.
AI-native environment
AI isn't an add-on. Our client's approach is built around using AI to dramatically increase the capabilities and output of strong people.
Early-stage impact
You'll join while the product, workflows, and operating model are still being shaped, giving you the opportunity to have a meaningful influence on how the company develops.
Flexible remote work
Working hours are flexible. Our client cares more about ownership and results than a fixed 9-to-5 schedule. Some regular overlap with the San Francisco team will be required for collaboration and meetings.
The Person We're Looking For
At the simplest level, our client is looking for someone who can walk into a complicated business process, understand it quickly, get their hands dirty, and ask:
“How can I use AI to make this dramatically better?”
Then actually make it happen.
